A book written with imagination must be read with imagination.
This is the first time i actually study a book in the Bible.
I never thought of “Written by imagination being read with imagination” concept very interesting
The first lecture provided me with more tools so that I can understand the psalms even better than now.
I completed another course on the Psalms last year. The course focused on the different types of the psalms. Those types helped me to re-visit and analyze the psalms from different angles (ex: enthronement psalm etc.). It helped me to read the Psalms in terms of those specific purposes, which helped me to gain a deeper insight into the book.
This course on the Psalms seem to take a different approach – from the perspective of modern theories of linguistics, critical thinking, and metaphors. It will provide me with more tools to read and understand the psalms. I found Dr. Heim’s explanation, “What is written with imagination must be read with imagination” inspiring.
The idea of actively seeking the common good in the ideals put forth in the Psalms is intriguing.
Yes. I like the statement, “things written with imagination must be read with imagination.” King David must have spent hours as a shepherd looking at the sky imaging God’s awesomeness and how that would play out in poetry.
i hadn’t thought very much about how the Psalms could be used to justify evil, misleading Christians to confirm narrow minded perceptions.
