How did learning about the different types of sayings found in the book of Proverbs help further your understanding of the book?

It helps:
1/ clarifying the objectives of the teaching topics.
2/ better relating the biblical teaching to the real life circumstances
3/ differentiating between the Godly wisdom vs. worldly wisdom and their benefits
4/ life application

I thoroughly enjoyed the way such topic was addressed. The examples that were provided were very clear and I plan on making such notes in my Bible to help me remember these facts better. It also helps me identify that there are so many ways this one book is written and has inspired me to take more time when reading it.

This is a deeper study of the Wisdom of God indicating that He wants us whole. Living to please him in all our ways. This is where He is Glorified, as we are continually being formed into His Glorious Image, sanctified.

It gave me a better foundation as to how Proverbs is structured – where to find information. The first 7 chapters re a father talking to his son make it that much more personal versus just instructional. I was also not aware that Wisdom was a reference to Jesus in Proverbs.

Learning about different types of saying in the book of Proverbs helps to put into context what is written. The description of the different kinds of sayings in the book helps me to understand that Proverbs are not just a bunch of wise sayings but also wisdom for sons and for children and for wives and for husbands.

Very helpful in seeing an outline of the book. Overviews are always helpful to understanding.

The book of Proverbs covers just about all aspects of life preparing & cautioning us to live our lives in the fear and awe of God. This type of living as illustrated previously in the time of Moses as he cautions the Israelites to live holy lives is given here in Proverbs again. The message of Proverbs was not only for the people of the author’s day but is applicable to every generation everywhere.

I shows me that the book of Proverbs is book that is giving instruction on how to live your life using wisdom that is given by God. These instructions will give and prolong life.
