Aimee Semple McPherson purchased a gospel car and, using such slogans as “Jesus Is Coming Soon, Make Ready, Where Will You Spend Eternity,” began an East Coast tour from Maine to Florida. In 1917, she began a periodical called The Bridal Call. In 1918, she made her first tour westward to Los Angeles, preaching in Victoria Hall Mission. She joined the Assemblies of God in 1919. Aimee barnstormed the country, telling of her vision for a center of evangelism in the West where all creeds could gather. In 1921, Aimee founded the Echo Park Evangelistic Association. She instituted the Bible Training School, which became Life Bible College. Then Aimee caught the radio challenge, realizing that Los Angeles had but two stations and two hundred thousand radios. KFSG, Call Foursquare Gospel, began transmitting from Angeles Temple in February 1924. that is the first religious broadcasting in America.
