Why was the National Association of Evangelicals formed?

The National Association of Evangelicals is a fruit of a desire following the era of the 1920s to unite conservative forces both against the rise of liberalism and needless evangelical fragmentation. The NAE’s founding is three reasons: the inadequacy of other channels of cooperation, a sense of isolation felt among organizations. The third motive was a conviction that a positive witness could be given by united evangelicals and only by united evangelicals.
