We would not understand the history of God’s people, the way that sin impacted them as well as God’s response. How and why God responds to His people teaches us more about Him.
We also learn of the importance of a Savior, why we were lost and needed redemption. We learn about the hope of the Lord and the setting of the stage to His coming although He is there throughout.
