One reason would be because God instituted it as part of acknowledging who He is and what He has done for His people, whether they were the nation of Israel or the body of Christ now. Another reason is that when we are in corporate worship, there is a sense of unity that God is very keen on us having with one another. And yet another reason is that by being in corporate worship with other believers, we can find, camaraderie, support and compfort from those of like faith.

Christians live in a world that is hostile to God and prefers to live according to its own rules. Without corporate worship, and the gathering together to seek God’s face, to pray, to listen to the Word and to demonstrate love for His people, a Christian will backslide and give the enemy room to manoeuvre. Corporate Worship also acts as a witness to the world and opportunities for spreading the Word.

Deleted User09/27/2021 at 22:10Moses was a righteous man because he was a faithful man. He walked, talked, listened, and did what God asked him to do. He confronted a stiff-necked Pharos until the Lord humbled the Pharaoh. He moved his entire family when God said “GO”. He waited for the Lord to provide. He was a judge for the Lord’s laws. He was a humble man.

His actions were to obey God for the benefit of the people, not for selfish reasons. When there were difficulties, he sought God’s counsel. We see him at the Red Sea, standing firm against what appeared to be and impossible route; we see his anger at Mount Sin when he discovers the golden calf; he leads the people in committing to the Covenant; he suffers the wilderness journeys, leading the people despite their disobedience and grumbling; he continually set before them God’s faithfulness, mercy and love, warning the people of the consequences of disobedience, but setting put the rewards of obedience.
