The author in Ecclesiastes looks at life as meaningless and out of control. We have to see life from both perspectives and trust God through it all.

It promotes righteousness and encourages people to seek wisdom. Proverbs discourages treacherous behavior and “short cuts” to gain wealth and power. Ecclesiastes appears to teach the opposite of Proverbs. It conveys messages that translate to “order does not have to be maintained” and “wisdom is for the foolish”.

Proverbs was written to give the people an understanding of living life correctly with God. Then reaping the benefits by getting what they want.
Ecclesiastes was written describing how tough life can be. It can take a U-turn when you least expect it. You do not have control over yours or others lives. -
