This person’s account does not add the chronological order of events, rather is added context, and first person account of the situation and struggles during Ruth’s time. It adds her connection to the historical time line of the lineage of Jesus and not specifically to the historical events with in the time prior to Jesus. These added details provide more insight during this time and thus by definition is a color book.
