There were times I wondered about some of the stories in the bible; did Balaam’s donkey really speak to him? Did Noah really get all those animals in the ark? Was Samson really that powerful? Did Goliath seriously back down an entire army all by himself? Did Jonah really get swallowed up by a fish and live to tell about it? However, as I fully and completely believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I have come to grips with the unerring word of God saying what He meant for it to say.

I have never questioned the accuracy of God’s Word. If God said it, it must be true. He cannot lie.

Since I first became a Christian, back in 1971, I have had a high degree of confidence in the accuracy of the Bible. I have had issues with various perspectives on what constitutes being Biblically accurate. For instance, the Bible provides no dates, none, and yet a number of perspectives have determined various dates, for various past Biblical events, and in a number of instances, there is insistence that these dates be accepted without questions. I would not view the having of doubts regarding these dates as questioning the accuracy of the Bible.

I enjoy being able to travel to the Holy Lands, and to visit Biblical sites, and having the ability to authenticate (to a degree) the Biblical account through personal experience.

The Bible does give dates. It will say in the 18th year of King so-and-so. Or the 3rd day of the 5th month in the 70th year of the Isrealites captivity etc…I should give you actual scriptural references, but I’m feeling lazy. Trust me, it’s there. You can Google it, I guess.

There was a time in the last few years of my faith where I searched to find out WHY I believed what I believe. I was raised in church and went to a Christian school K-12. I just accepted it as fact and thought everyone around me felt the same. In my adult years, I began to face the challenges of others and realized I needed to look deeper into WHY I believe the Bible is true. It has been a wonderful journey of digging deeper into Scripture and seeing them through clearer eyes.

I accepted Christ in 1976. Since then I have never doubted the historical accuracy or truthfulness of the bible. I immediately enrolled and attended a bible college. Every class cemented my faith in the bible.
