How do you respond to the frequently heard critique that prayer is “not enough”? How can prayer instead be action of the most practical kind?

Deleted User02/13/2022 at 22:25To me prayer is talking to God and Jesus and I talk to him a lot but I have heard all my life that “prayer is not enough” and sometimes I think that you have to take action sometimes to show God that you are willing to do “some” of the work in faith, not work to show yourself approved or to be saved as Jesus already done that but to show him you want to help change if only within yourself. That is my opinion.
Prayer can be an action in and of itself as you are taking your time to talk to God and Jesus and also when I talk to God and Jesus praying for others that is taking actions and in a way serving by taking the time out of the day to take others into my heart and mind and pray…That is practical to me.

We are told to devote ourselves to prayer, so it is intended to be more than just an occasional, as needed, activity.

Deleted User01/17/2022 at 10:14Often when we pray, we realize things we haven’t thought about before. We are talking with a trusted friend. God sometimes just answers “See, we just needed to talk it out”.

Deleted User12/16/2021 at 05:481. I respond with the key that unlocks the door to our blessings. His word tells us to knock, and the door shall be open, to seek and yea shall find. 2. God want us to use the key to have a personal relationship with him. It gives us access to our blessings from him.
