It provides an outline for the book of Acts because it was Jesus’ strategy to change the world. By going to these 3 regions they were sure to witness to all people groups; Jews and Gentiles.

This verse provides an outline for the book of Acts because it shows how the gospel was able to spread form Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth. The planting of the church is documented in the first 7 books of the book of Acts. The spread to Samaria and Judea is documented in Acts 8-12 and then Acts 13 to 28 documents the spread of the gospel to the rest of the world.

Acts 1:8 provides an outline for the book of Acts. It provides an outline for the book of Acts because Jesus had gone into heaven and He told His disciples that He will send a comforter until He comes again. The Holy Spirit came into the hearts of those who received the power of the Holy Spirit as a witness to Him in Jerusalem. After the Holy Spirit came like tongues of fire, this was the beginning of the first church. This movement also began to spread the gospel around the world with power from on high.

This powerful movement provided an outline for the book of Acts and helped Jesus’s disciples to become witnesses and Christians.

The first two chapters describe, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you”. The next seven chapters describe being witnesses in Jerusalem. The next five chapters describe being witnesses in all Judea and Samaria. And the final 16 chapters describe being witnesses to the end of the earth.
