I would like to also to be able to enter into deeper discussions with atheists or agnostics who don’t believe in Jesus. -

As I heard a pastor explain, the different people we will encounter will be like to various soils described in the Parable of the Soils (Luke 4:8-21). No matter how well we are prepared to share the seed of the Gospel, always keep in mind that some people will receive with it with a “by the wayside” attitude, and the Word will have no effect; others will receive it, appear to be glad to hear it, but whose interests will soon wilt because the ground is shallow, some will receive it, begin to bear fruit, but then get entangled in the world and stop following God’s way. However, some seed will fall on good ground and product the fruits of the Spirit in varying amounts. By keeping this in mind, you won’t be discouraged when it appears that comparatively few of the people with whom you share the Gospel eventually become true followers of Christ.
