It also means that the only thing we have to look forward to is this life and all its disappointments and futility now, and eternal misery for all eternity when we die.

True. What’s worse, Jesus would be exposed as a fake, unable to save even Himself. Our accuser, Satan, works overtime to keep people from knowing they have a Savior!
