I want to learn more about the philosophy of Christian education and grow more in my Christian faith. Moreover, I want to be able incorporate a variety of biblical scriptures within my lesson plans.

My goal is to earn my certificate, but I’d also like to explore differences between philosophies in Christian education vs. secular education. My personal approach is to be a Christian first, and then respond to questions/issues/concerns that students might face. I want to be a sounding board for students to navigate their faith.

I hope to gain a renewed perspective on the importance of Christian education. I want to grow in my mindset in how I can contribute to raising up the next generation to follow after God.

I already did an overview of the course when it was offered prior to June 2021 and realized that I wanted this course more than when I clicked on it in the first place. I teach in a Canadian ACSI school and I have a lot of questions about what qualifies someone to teach in a Christian school, because my colleagues believed that they evolved and I do not feel like I fit in. I have researched the evolution/creation discussion for over 25 years and do not understand how a believer can teach death before Adam, (the Gap theory/evolution). If their understanding of metaphysics is predicated on serendipity and the theories and postulations of man, and is not in keeping with my understanding or what I have read in the books recommended for this course. This course has already given me a greater understanding of ACSI and what is expected of a Christian educator and it has restored my joy and my hope. While we are mandated in BC to teach anthropological origins, I believe that we should also teach the flaws in that perspective and that we should be also teaching apologetics, hermeneutics, and able to begin teaching exegesis at an appropriate grade sensitive level to our students, thereby arming them for their future. We should be able to grow from milk to meat with our students.

I want to understand more meaningful ways to incorporate scripture daily.
