There is no difference between seeking God’s face and hand. In prayer you are asking God to bend and listen. With His mighty hand you are requesting His help.

Seeking God’s hand can often be seeking what God can do for you. When seeking God’s face is just wanting to be with Him, where He and his presence alone is more than enough.

Seeking his face is to know him personally. Seeking his hand is to accept his protection.

When we seek His hand, we are seeking help. We are seeking “a helping hand”. When we are seeking God’s face, we are seeking Him. We are seeking all of Him and a relationship with HIm.

The difference between seeking God’s face and seeking His hand? We need to seek God’s face when we are seeking to have an intimate personal relationship with him. As First Chronicles 16: 11 said, seek the Lord and his strength; seek his face evermore. So seeking God’s hand is also needed in the process when getting to know him and building the relationship.
