The universal church is the body of all believers throughout time, past, present, and future, who believed in Jesus Christ and are sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption. The local church is a subset of the Universal church and consist of a geographically local group of believers who worship and serve Christ together as a spiritual family.

The difference between the universal church and the local church: The universal church is when God appoint his son Jesus Christ as the head of the body of Christ ( the church) and all believers present and past as the body of Christ (the church):. The local church comprises of small assembly of believers with one pastor, the head of the church and is sometimes held at a member’s home.
