In everything Joshua did, he always went to God first. He had unfailing faith that God would guide his life and he trusted God for that guidance. We can live our lives the same way if we chose too. We just have to have the faith and belief that God will deliver us.

What was the secret of Joshua’s success? How can that secret be applied today?
Joshua was able to accomplish what God tasked him to do following the death of Moses because of his faithfulness. He was uncompromising in two attributes; obedience to God and to accept the mission without question. As the charged by God leader of the nation of Israel he was unwavering in these two embedded qualities.
Joshua’s model of leadership is as important today as it was thousands of years ago. Our world needs leaders, men and women, of courage and stamina in their faith and convictions to stand up to the pressures of hostility and great needs our world is crying out for today. The spirit-led life is a life of discipline and faith. Joshua’s life stayed faithful, unwilling to compromise his convictions and commitment to the mission. While Joshua never followed Jesus, he was led by the Holy Spirit. He knew how to navigate in the wilderness certain in his belief that he was going in the right direction and would land where God was leading. He also took the enormous responsibility of leading an entire nation to that same land to they could receive the blessing of the Promised Land. He lived into the full blessing of being led in grace by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Joshua is obedience to God, he said, he and his family will worship the Lord. Yes, when we obey God, He will bless us.
