Why would a lack of knowledge of the Old Testament weaken our understanding of the New Testament?

Deleted User03/16/2022 at 14:19The Old Testament lays the foundation of the new. The OT includes the system of sacrifice and atonement, and shows that it was not working. The OT shows that we need a savior, because we cannot live perfect lives. The OT includes so much prophecy that Jesus fulfills.

Deleted User03/16/2022 at 13:09You wouldn’t be able to understand why Christ came to the world; knowing that His ancestors were actual human beings like us helps us better relate to Him and thus believe in Him. The entire foundation of Christ’s purpose is laid in the Old Testament.
