Overview and Objectives

Lesson Overview

In this lesson, you will discover principles for communicating with your spouse in ways that are positive and that build each other up. Dr. Welch will discuss four communication principles couples can strive for and ten rules they can follow to help them achieve those principles.

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain why it is important to say things that build each other up.
  • Describe four principles for communicating.
  • Identify ten rules for communicating that will help you achieve the four principles.
