Explain, in your own words, Dr. Black’s visual of a book in the middle of two Bibles. What is she illustrating with this visual?

Dr. Black starts and finishes with Gods word. The integration of the curriculum use in our schools is based in Biblical integration.

Dr. Black is demonstrating that God’s Word should go before and after our lessons, surrounding them, and that everything should be viewed and taught through the lens of Biblical truth.

We begin and end with the Bible. Everything in the middle is through the lens of the Bible as well.

God’s Word should surround our lessons.

All of our lessons should be placed between the Bible. The Bible should be on both sides of our lessons.

What are some techniques you have used, or currently use, to encourage a growth mindset in yourself?

I have recently been meeting with a group of friends that are also educators for the purpose of prayer, praise, and discussion.

I have joined a Bible study group at my school that is done with other teachers on campus. I continue to learn and reflect by going to development activities.

I like to challenge myself to try new things and experiences. I continue to read about new topics so that I do not stay stagnant.

I have joined some committees within our school, going to coach a sport and joined a women’s Bible study.

I enrolled into a Christian university, became a active member in my church, read and reflect on the Word, read apologetic books, served others, prayed, and fast.

What do you hope to gain from this course?

I want to truly develop a growth mindset and integrate a Christian philosophy of education into my teaching and all of my life.

I would like to learn more about Bible integration in some of my courses that are more difficult to accomplish this task in.

What I would like to gain from this course is knowing the best practices in how to integrate God’s word throughout each subject taught.

Sometimes I struggle without to integrate the word in to my lessons…such as math, so I hope to get some ideas on how to make that easier.

I hope to gain the knowledge of how to integrate scriptures in every subject in my classroom.
