Overview and Objectives

Lesson Overview

When studying any Bible passage we must observe its details. In Lesson Four we learn to apply micro-observation to a biblical text so we can clearly interpret its meaning.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain each component of a historical, grammatical, literary and cultural study of a Bible passage.
  • Describe how we apply the six observation questions to a micro-observation of a Bible passage.
  • Conduct a micro-observation of any Bible passage.
Personal Reflection

As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
Explain why each of these is essential to Bible interpretation: dependence on God, a good conscience, self-study, and use of gifted teachers.
