Overview and Objectives

Lesson Five teaches us how to interpret a biblical author’s intended meaning. To understand literature written in ancient languages, cultures and historical contexts we must apply skills of interpretation.

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

• Explain what we must understand about ourselves as Bible interpreters.
• Explain some things we must understand about the Bible to interpret it accurately.
• Explain how Bible interpretation works.
