Understanding the Pentateuch is essential to understanding the Bible. In this course, learners will study the contents of the the Pentateuch and consider the particular Pentateuchal problems of evolution and higher criticism in light of its archaeological background. The course explores such historic events as the Creation, the Flood, and the Exodus, and highlights the lives of the Patriarchs and Moses. Students will also examine the content, meaning, and applicability of the laws that form the foundation of Israel’s theocracy.

Of the courses that I have completed on your site to date, this course was the least enjoyed. The lectures and lecture materials at times were not always helpful. I found the discussion about the J document, E document, P document and D document quite confusing at first because they were not well introduced, and not really very helpful at all. I did however appreciate having the transcript of the lectures available, and would not take a course in the future unless a transcript is available.

The course was satisfactory. However, the amount of time spent on the Big Bang Theory and higher criticism was somewhat negative to the idea of the inspiration and infallibility of scripture.

I found it very impersonal just listening to a disembodied voice I would have preferred to see someone or at least some visual aids especially when talking about locations(Maps would be good) I would also vote fro a word count button on the toolbar . That said the course was very informative Thank you
