Joseph asked Pilate for Jesus’ body to be taken for burial in his tomb. Joseph knew that Jesus’ body was prepared for burial and buried in his tomb. He was an actual witness to Jesus’ body being laid in the tomb and the the stone being placed in front of the tomb.
