It shows God’s creation in the relationship between and man and a woman. That a healthy sexual relationship can and should keep us from seeking relationships outside the marriage. The relationship between a married couple is something that is a blessing from the Creator!

So that people can prevent sex outside marriage

To show that God intended sex and intimacy in marriage. And to show how this can be accomplished as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it, so married couples ought to love each other and be willing to sacrifice for each other only.
