Deleted User01/30/2022 at 20:11If you read only the New Testament it would be like not reading part 1 of 2 parts. The Old Testament prophesies about the events coming in the New Testament. So when you read the New Testament it all comes together.

It establishes the foundation of truth that the New Testament builds on. We cannot fully know about Christ and His purpose for coming into our world without studying the Old Testament.

Deleted User01/25/2022 at 21:04The Old Testament provides the foundation to the New Testament. Lack of knowledge of the Old Testament would hinder our growth in understanding. You can’t fully understand something without knowing it’s origins or history first.
