God made us with the freedom to choose and all of us have chosen sin and experienced the results of our wrong choices. Because Christ died on the cross for our sins, defeated death by rising on the third day, and gave us the Holy Spirit, we now have the power the choose and make righteous decisions that please God. Daily devotions, Bible reading, and prayer are three methods that help me stay on course and I choose to do them each day.

The thing that comes to mind when I think of the freedom that I have in Christ are the freedom to worship God, the freedom to seek his help in times of need, the sense of rest that comes with our relationship with God, and freedom to not fall into temptation and sin Because I am a new creation in Christ and I am free to serve the Lord and to choose to live right before Him.

Christ has freed me from fear, ways of the world and to walk in His ways producing fruit of the spirit in the community.

We experience true freedom in Christ by knowing Him, walking in His ways, and engaging with the changes He makes in and through our lives as we focus on service to Him and to others.

A few years ago, I abruptly left a toxic decades long marriage. By this time, I was unemployed and disabled. Of course, there were some frightening moments after leaving, but I knew Jesus had freed me. I knew He was walking with me. Soon after, I had begun to study the fruit of the Spirit. It has definitely taught me a lot. When all you have heard is lies, insults and reprimands, you lose sight of what love, truth, peace and joy really are. So, I would try to share them or see them in others. It has been a beautiful thing to watch. And, I have learned so much. This new found freedom is more than I could ever have imagined years ago..

Yes, I have read several books on the Holy Spirit. Learning from studying is important but it cannot replace seeing the work/change in individuals as a result of submitting to the Spirit of God. Isn’t the change the fruit? Personally I have grown in my relationship with Christ as I have been obedient and He has changed my thought process and made me more patient, caring, and understanding of others and their circumstances.

I have studied the fruit of the spirit, but not in depth. I am taking this course because I would like to grow in this area of my life. I would like to manifest the fruit of the spirit in all areas of my life.

I did not study the fruit of the Spirit prior to this course; I took this course to study the fruit of the Spirit so I may bear fruit for Jesus.
