Lesson Overview

The New Testament challenges each of us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).
In Lesson Four, we will examine why it is important to connect with people in the local church. The term church and its benefits and responsibilities will be explained. Special attention will be given to spiritual gifts and their importance in effectively serving Christ.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain why involvement in a local church is important.
  • Define the “visible” and “invisible” church.
  • List the benefits and responsibilities of church involvement.
  • See why using spiritual gifts is essential to serving Christ effectively.
