The Israelites responded in one of two ways: either run towards God or run away from Him. All of us have the same two choices when trials and tribulations come upon us.

They would either draw close to God or turn away. Its sad to say that we as a people, including myself, have the same two reactions to God when going through hard and diffucult times.

The Israelites responded by either turning their backs to God and going their own way, or turning toward him and following his lead in obedience. I have done both in my life, and have never regretted it when I obeyed God. All of my regrets are times when I turned away from him.

It’s all about Trust and God’s Faithfulness. They were to turn towards him in obedience and experience blessings or turn away from a him in disobedience and expect curses. God is so faithful to those who preserve, are patient and trust that no matter what horrible hardships we endure that we realize that God is in control and He has a greater plan and purpose for these trials. He can always bring good out of bad situations if we allow him to.

They would either turn their backs on God or they would turn away from him. These are the same two choices that humanity has had since the dawn of time and the same two choices that we have today.
