In Lesson Two we will study the Old Testament’s story and focus on the books that tell it from its beginning in Genesis to its end in Nehemiah. This story of God’s love and gracious forgiveness is the core of Old Testament literature.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Describe how the “color” books differ from the “time” books.
  • Identify the eleven books that move the story of the Old Testament forward.
  • Name the four eras (or periods) into which the Old Testament is divided.
Personal Reflection

As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
