Ruth is a color book because it doesn’t move the story along which “time” books do. Instead Ruth brings important detail and information we wouldn’t otherwise get if we just read the time books.

The Book of Ruth would fit Dr. Buzzell’s definition of an Old Testament “color” book because this Book does not advance the Old Testament story. However, the Book of Ruth does add details to the Old Testament story.

Dr Buzzell categorizes the book of Ruth as a colour book because it provides extra detail to the story of the Jewish people but doesn’t move the story along.

The old testament is compared to a film because the books are spliced together, to become one continuous story.I went back and re-assessed my original answer.

The teacher compares the old testament to a film because it is a story that moves along, The time books, but occasionally backtracks with additional details to the story,The color books.

The teacher compares it to a film because of its narrative form.
