In order to understand the message of a prophetic book, what are two important things to consider?

Two important things to consider when trying to understand a prophetic book are time and place. If one knows the time and place they are better orient their mind around what is going one at that time. The more “clues”, such as date and location, can help with the comprehension of what the prophetic book is teaching.

In order to understand a prophetic book, it’s very important to understand the time and place of the events when the book was written. That will provide the background necessary to understand what the prophet is writing about.

Time and Place are the two most important things to consider.

Time and audience that the prophetic word was for are very important. Time especially because it is not only important to note the time of when it was being prophesied, but also how time is related in the prophecies. The audience is to show who the prophecy was for. Note that some of the prophetic word of Daniel was shown again in Revelation. So time is still to come in those prophecies.
