I am not comfortable praying out loud but I love the power that comes with united prayer.

I personally do not have any issues praying with others. However, when others are praying at the same time, I get confused.
I prefer praying together taking turns. The most rewarding thing I get when we pray together is to see the peace and joy on each face.

A little background. I grew up in church so they always prayed for others at end of service, taking requests and they all prayed out loud for others and each family tried to pray louder than the others and it would remind me of what Jesus said about the Pharisees to be seen and heard so I grew to dislike praying aloud in church for others as if I were a hypocrite too. As I grew I began to want to pray for others but kept falling back into that feeling of being a hypocrite if I did, but this lesson was challenging for me because I broke through to see that I could do this and that is wasn’t about my past but about me personally growing and moving past that and being obedient to God and learning how to pray for others all over again and so that was rewarding in itself for me.

For me, the hardest part of praying with others is speaking in a group. The most rewarding aspect of praying with others is the closeness you feel with the group and with Jesus.

For me, united or corporate prayer has been a blessing – there are so many needs out, and together we can intercede for others just as Christ intercedes for us.

Praying with others honors God in a special way, because it helps to build and strengthen the body of Christ. And it brings the
people closer to God and to each other. Praying together is an expression of the unity Christ prayed for in John chapter 17.

For me personally it takes the “me” out of the situation and shows God that I love all His children and hold them up before Him in prayer.
