Every circumstance has it’s unique requirements that God Himself knows fully. We may have some insight and gain more insight as we persevere in prayer towards that next prayer that causes the cup of blessing to suddenly over flow in fulfillment to our prayer request.
Elijah cup of blessing may have been one prayer short of overflowing in fulfillment had he stopped asking.

Elijah had to continue in prayer as God had promised him would come. If Elijah had stopped praying then the promise may not have been revealed to him. God’s promises stand true but in order for us to see it we sometimes have to be persistent in our prayer life.

The rain would have been delayed

The rain would not have happened.

It may take years for an answer, and we may not see the answer during our lives, but if we continue and we are praying for something that would align with God’s will, there is no reason to think that He will not eventually answer.

Prayers are answered on God’s timetable, so we persevere in prayer- no matter what- as the fulfillment of that prayer request may even exceed our earthly life span.

Mueller’s prayer teaches us that no matter how long it takes we are to keep praying.
